I use reusable bags that I picked up from Sam's. When we shop it's mostly for the month and the extra big bags are handy. My husband on the other hand does get plastic bags when he's sent to the store. We recycle them around here for trash bags and carry alls.

I use them! It took me a while, but I finally got the hang of remembering to bring them with me. Nothing more frustrating than having a basketful of food and remembering your bags are outside in the car!

I try to use the bags. The self-serve registers aren't really set up for using bags because the scale can give problems with a wacky weight.

I use a variety of reusable bags, because too many plastic bags in the house drives me crazy! We do reuse plastic bags though: I crochet them into new bags and rugs, and we use them to hold recyclables and in our tiny trash cans (we don't generate much garbage because we do vermiculture and recycle)

I have about 10 or 12 reusable bags. The best part if that most of them were free or part of a buy this, get this free or discounted! I love that I can ft 2-3x as many groceries in each bag, and I no longer have a huge bundle of plastic bags to take the recycling center!

No, we don't use them - yet. I plan on getting some soon b/c they hold so much more than plastic bags.

I take my bags everywhere I shop. I subscribe to you throgh Google reader and am very excited to tell my friends about this from my blog.

I use reusable bags, I started off last year buying one or two bags every time I went grocery shopping. I try to bring them all the time, but sometimes I forget. But it seems like the baggers will only put a few things in my reusable bags and i still end up coming home with 10 of those darn plastic bags. I use those in my little trashcans all over the house, and for cleaning the liter box, so they still come in handy!

Miriam said...

I DO use reusable bags :) I like them because you can fit so much more in them and still carry them comfortably. And it doesn't hurt that some stores give you $.05 credit for using your own bags :)

I use reusable bags when I shop at Aldi's I have a hard time remembering to use them when I go to Walmart because I would have to take so many inside! I am getting better, but it's a process where you have to re-train yourself if you aren't used to using them.

Brenda said...

I have not used these shopping bags yet. I usually buy so many groceries at once that I would probably need to purchase about 15 bags so everything would fit. This would be awkward carting back and forth to the store.

I have 2 which are definitely not enough for a big grocery trip. I would like more but seem to keep forgetting to buy a new one each time I go to the store

I don't use them because I don't have any! How sad is that? But I reuse the plastic bags around my house all the time - they are trash can liners in my bathroom and office, and we use them for picking up doggie doo and changing the cat box. If I didn't get the free plastic bags at the store, I'd have to buy bags especially for these things.

I have a reusable bag from each grocery store I frequent plus a few extras that I have picked up along the way.
My husband has been annoyed with them cluttering the trunk of the car, but finally understood why I use them.
I recently had kidney surgery, so I have a 20lb weight restriction. He has been going with me grocery shopping, and quickly realized how much easier it is to carry up 4 reusable bags then a dozen ripping plastic bags up the stairs of our apartment.
Occasionally I only take half of my reusables when I shop, just to replenish our trash can liners.

I currently use plastic bags and horribly throw them away. I recently watched a special on it and am excited to make a change!

I use my reusuable bags all the time even though stores in my area do not offer a discount or a credit for doing so. I didn't want to be a walking advertisement so I have some very pretty ones I purchased online.

I do use reusable bags. I keep them in the car and remember them (almost) always now! They hold so much more than the flimsy plastic ones, too, I just love them. I have been collecting them for a couple of years now, so I have quite a collection of bags-all free of course! thanks!

I just subscribed a few days ago,And I try to use reusable shopping bags when I remember to put them back in my car. If not we recycle them for trash cans or take them back to the store to be recycled.

I USE THEM BUT NOT AS MUCH AS I WOULD LIKE TO. WE KEEP THEM IN OUR VAN BUT DO NOT ALWAYS REMEMBER TO TAKE THEM IN. WE DO TAKE THE BAGS TO GET RECYCLED AT KROGER OR WALMART. THEY HAVE BINS TO PUT THEM IN

I have started using reusable bags. My problem w/ them is that they don't seem to be sturdy enough. I'll keep trying though. :)

I am already a subscriber and I love to read this blog, I get lots of tips on coupons and sales through this site! I also love reusable bags -- great for luggage, moving, stronger than plastic bags and easy to carry into the store.

I just recently was able to get a few of the reuseable Kroger bags for free. I took them with me last week but forget them in the car. **sigh** Maybe I'll remember them next time. I need to make a mental note when I grab my coupon box to also grab those bags!

I use my own bags every chance I get. I have a large collection of Target reusable bags and have recently accumulated other store bags as they give them away. I'm a frequent shopper at Kroger, too. Thanks!

I just started using reusable bags. I love them! They are so much easier to carry and they hold so much! With a 9 month old, I love that I can usually throw them on my shoulder to haul my goods out of the store instead of trying to hold onto 4 or 5 plastic bags AND a baby.
